Changelog

Beta5, development started

Additions:

  • Support of rare T-Mobile Vibrant which use a different MoviNAND chip which acts as the Internal SD in Galaxy S phones.
Those special T-Mobile Vibrant devices are equipped by the 416MB bigger MoviNAND chip used in the 16GB international version.
  • After interesting critics about memory management weaknesses with the default settings, this version will adopt stronger parameters.
This is an attempt do complete current filesytem I/O optimizations with a little more aggressive −but still conservative− lowmemorykiller improved behavior.

Beta4, 2010-09-14

A few new features and bugfixes, the lagfix part is now extremely close to it’s final state !

Changes:

Improvements:

Only in RFS mode, when lagfix is disabled: A limited compatibility layer has been added to allow ClockWorkMod recovery and Rom Manager to work as usual. I hope this will help people to backup and restore easier, but this solution don’t satisfy me much. Still no news from Koush.

Automatic brightness adjustment has been optimized to improve the accuracy of dark conditions detection.

Ext4 formatting process is now a bit slower but don’t use not-very-well-implemented mode anymore. Ext4 partition is now just stronger again.

Added tun.ko module for Cisco VPN.

Bugfixes :

The battery life issue introduced in beta3 is resolved. CPU was locked at 1GHz, which some people saw as a feature (snappier Phone!) but in reality this was a bug, sorry guys :D

What was called “Kies Bug” was present because i forced adb to run to help people debug their configuration.
Now adb is only force-enabled at boot if a file named /sdcard/Voodoo/enable-debug is detected during boot.
You should not have trouble to see your phone with your computer anymore.

Rare bug corrected when a broken temporary backup used in migration was wrongly reused if it was still present on the internal SD.
Fixed thanks to the report of kodealap2 on IRC, thank you !

Potential security hole closed about the same topic.
